The Alpaca Shop was created in 2000 as a place where people who love alpaca can go to find quality alpaca garments. There is an interesting story to The Alpaca Shop. Linda Davis pioneered The Alpaca Shop name throughout the world and wanted to bring the best that she could find in luxurious, alpaca clothing. She discovered that Wholesale vendors were trying to sell alpaca garments to her with alpaca listed on the label, however, in reality, the garments consisted of mostly synthetic fibers mixed with a smaller amount of alpaca. Linda wanted to be able to offer the general public alpaca labels where you could read about the content and know what you were receiving in the product.

Linda began The Alpaca Shop so that new and exciting labels could be offered to the general public where the content was true to what was listed on the label. She traveled to product shows and saw that many of the retailers were selling the garments thinking they were selling 100% alpaca to the public but instead they were mostly selling synthetic fibers with no percentage of content listed on the label. Thus, The Alpaca Shop was created. The Alpaca Shop was registered as a trademark in the United States Trademark office on June 25, 2002.

Linda began her business and started The Alpaca Shop to offer exciting new labels in the alpaca industry where content was true to label.
